Competitive Swim Team Training Group Structure 

Age Group Bronze (Age: 12 & U)

Description:  Intro to AG competitive team, BR and FLY will be taught and reinforced for ½ of practice, other ½ of practice will be FR & BK focus workouts with focus of where “Learn to Train” AG model is introduced.

Goal: To acquire 4 stroke competency & become well rounded athletes is the goal with a base training background. To aquire racing skills/ etiquet to lay a successful foundation in competitive swimming (including being certified by a USA Swim Coach in a Backstroke & Forward Start off the blocks). To aquire a legal time in 50's for all 4 strokes and explore up to 100 yards of each stroke in competition.  Participation in meets is required to progress to AGS. 

Attendance: 50-60% strongly encouraged (3x pool training sessions a week)

Age Group Silver (Age: 12 & U)

Description:  AG competitive team, where all 4 strokes competency has been met, working toward mastery of strokes within context of “Learn to Train” AG development model in full effect. Becoming well rounded athletes to include developing leadership skills, working as a part of a team, accountability and goal setting will be introduced and reinforced.

Goal: To increase AG physiological fitness, acquire advanced stroke biomechanics appropriate for AG “Learn to Train developmental model and to build champions of character who lead in the pool and in life. Learn how to use snorkel with proper clearing and swimming with all equipment & master flip turns/ hyperstreamline off each wall.  Increase participation of meets and explore different events up to 200 yards of each stroke. Time Standard Achievement per Age Group is required to gain entry to AG performance training group 

Attendance: 60-80% strongly encouraged (3-4x pool training sessions a week + Activation Routine)

HS Prep.Training Group (12-18) ***Currently only offered in the Spring-Summer***

DescriptionAn age group "Learn to Train" model for senior aged athletes who want to increase their physiological fitness, increase their biomechanics in each of the 4 strokes and improve upon their racing skills in the Pre-Season OR Off-season of high school swimming. Competiton in meets is encouraged, but not required for this group as it is more designed for swimmers learning to improve upon their fitness and skills in the water. Athletes in this group are encouraged to swim for their respected High School Teams exclusively in Fall/Winter months in this training group. 

 

Age Group Performance (Age 10-14) (Coach Invite Only) 

Description: An Elite AG training program where athletes will have an advanced understanding and application of stroke biomechanics in all 4 strokes. Intro to Sports Nutrition & Sports Psychology, Leadership Development & Intro to dryland training will be the focus with concerted effort of parent/athlete education in preparation for Elite Senior level training where “Learning to Achieve” senior development model is introduced.

Goal: Are well rounded athletes who have a high level of character, possess an internal motivation to be the best they can be, and shares interest in fulfilling more of a leadership role to serve their peers with a growth and team centric mindset which will be nurtured, and reinforced.

Attendance: 80-90% Required (4-5x pool training sessions + 1-2 dryland activation sessions a week) 

Performance: Must have 11-12 "A" times based on National Motivation Age Group Time Standards (24'-28') OR Multiple 10&U Kentucky State Championship Qualifying times to be considered entry for this training group, unless invited by Head Coach otherwise. 

Increased training, competition and commitment level will be expected with focus on USA State Championships, AG Zones/ Sectionals (National AG Motivational Times), NCSA AG Nationals, U.S. Para Time Standards (Classified Para Athletes).

Senior Performance (13&O) (Coach Invite Only) 

Description: 

Goal: Are well rounded athletes who have a high level of character, possess an internal motivation to be the best they can be, and shares interest in fulfilling more of a leadership role to serve their peers with a growth and team centric mindset which will be nurtured, and reinforced

Attendance: 90-100% Required (6-8x pool training sessions +2-3 dryland sessions a week) 

Performance: Multiple AA-AAA 11-12 Cuts OR 13-14 A-AA based on National Age Group Motivational Time Standards (24'-28') to be considered entry into this group. 

Increased training, competition and commitment level will be expected with focus on USA State Championships, SR ESSZ Zones/ Sectionals , U.S. Para Time Standards (Classified Para Athletes).

High Performance (14 & O) (Coach Invite Only) 

Description: 

Goal: Are well rounded athletes who have a high level of character, possess an internal motivation to be the best they can be, and shares interest in fulfilling more of a leadership role to serve their peers with a growth and team centric mindset which will be nurtured, and reinforced

Attendance: 98-100% Required (8-9x pool training sessions + 2-3 dryland sessions a week) 

Performance: 15-16 AA-AAA time standards in two or more events based on the National Age Group Motivation Time Standard to be considered for entry into this group.

Will have Senior Kentucky State Championship Cuts and focus on national level competititon (Sectional, NCSA Jr. Nationals, Futures, Jr.National, TYR Pro, Olympic Trials). It is expected to travel to the highest level meet(s) that the athlete qualifies for.
